About Flexura:

Flexura (Metaxalone) defines a drug used to relax muscles. In most cases, it is incorporated together with physical therapy and used in decreasing spasms or other type of pains or injuries related to muscles. Its main mode of work is through blocking pain sensations from the brains of patients.

How to use Flexura

A patient should contact a physician for an accurate prescription of Flexura. The medicine is not to be used without a prescription, and this action may lead to undesired health risks. Normally, the physician would assess the patient’s condition to determine the state of their symptoms, current medical conditions and previous medical history that may have an effect on the drug use. A typical prescription will see an adult patient suffering from muscle pains take Flexura orally for about 3 or 4 times a day until when the dose is over. Medical experts advise the medicine be taken if possible on an empty stomach or just after a light meal. Further dosages will be determined by the physician depending on how a patient responds to treatment. A normal dosage would last for three weeks and should not go beyond that unless when specified by the doctor.

Flexura Dosage

For patients above 12 years of age, they would be prescribed a single 400mg tablet to take three to four times each day. This can differ depending on how severe the symptoms are or if there are any known reactions with Metaxalone, which is the active ingredient in the medicine. Swallow the tablet whole, do not chew, break or try to dilute its contents. In cases where the medicine is used together with physical therapy, remember to focus on other treatment procedures for a complete pain relief. An overdose of this medicine may lead to death, and unless specified by your physician, you should not alter your prescriptions for any reason whatsoever.

Flexura Side Effects

Patients using Flexura may expect to experience side effects during their treatment therapy. Some common side effects to expect include:

  • Vomiting
  • Stomach upsets
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue and drowsiness

There are severe side effects that should prompt for an immediate medical consultation if they are experienced. These include: seizures, infections, irregular heartbeats, difficulty in breathing, abnormal breathing, increased fatigue or jaundice.

Flexura Precautions

For your safety as a patient, it is important to tell your doctor other prescription or nonprescription drugs, supplements or herbal medicine you are using. This is because metaxalone is known to react with ingredients with other medicines and this may have adverse effects on the patient. If a patient suffers from any allergic conditions such as tight chest, skin rashes, hives or difficulties in breathing or swallowing, they should consult a doctor for consideration of alternative treatment options or dosages. Flexura is not suitable for treating muscle pains in all patients and consultation to a doctor is a must before the use of this medicine. Prescriptions given by a physician should be adhered to strictly unless instructed otherwise by a doctor.
